Study material, tests and progress for classes 9-12 and VU in one platform

StrucLearn gathers books, notes, MCQs and past papers for classes 9-12 and Virtual University into one structured catalogue that students can browse by board, class and chapter.

Online tests, practice drills and progress tracking sit on top of the same catalogue, so every question a student answers feeds back into what they should study next.

Challenge

Study material for classes 9-12 and Virtual University is scattered across many sources, and students have no single place to practise, sit tests and see their progress.

Students preparing for board exams moved between scanned books, chat groups and ad-heavy websites to find notes, MCQs and past papers, and much of what they found was outdated or tied to the wrong board.

Practice was disconnected from the material. A student could read a chapter in one place and attempt questions in another, with no record of what they had already covered or where they kept going wrong.

For administrators, the catalogue itself was the hard part: boards, classes, books, chapters and topics that change every syllabus cycle, with thousands of questions that had to stay attached to the right place.

The platform had to bring material, practice and progress together on one structured catalogue that administrators could keep current without rebuilding pages by hand.

What success had to look like

  • Put books, notes, MCQs, past papers and pairing schemes in one place
  • Let students practise, sit online tests and track their progress
  • Give administrators one panel to manage and bulk-import the catalogue

Solution

One Next.js app for the public site, the student portal and the super-admin panel, on a single Fastify + tRPC API over PostgreSQL, so every page, test and admin screen reads the same typed catalogue.

Every book, chapter, heading and question hangs off one catalogue, so the public pages, the online tests and the student dashboard all read the same structure.

Practice is tied to the material. Each attempt is recorded against its chapter, which drives progress, study plans and the recommendations a student sees next.

Administrators manage the whole catalogue from one super-admin panel, with a rich editor for maths-heavy questions and an AI generator to draft new MCQs for review.

Keeping thousands of questions organised. Every MCQ hangs off the same board, class, book and chapter structure, so tests, practice and progress all read from one source rather than separate copies.
